Pywikipediabot Job Listings

Companies with job listings that relate specifically to Pywikipediabot are welcome to list details of, or links to, those positions here. Please include the dates any position applications close, so that old positions can be removed from this list.

Positions

• Wikia is looking for anti-vandalism bots (and their owners). This can be using Pywikipediabot or anything else. The tasks include detecting vandalism across a network of 4000 wikis and either reverting that or alerting the community to it, depending on the wishes of the community and how active the wiki is. I'm open to ideas about other potentially useful bots, such as bots that monitor for unexpected activity levels, like edits on an otherwise dead wiki, or an odd number of images being uploaded. Turning client-side scripts into MediaWiki extensions would also be useful. We also need bot writers who can train wiki users to run and manage the bots they create. This can be payment for code, short term contracting to adapt a bot to Wikia's set-up, internships, etc. Please contact me at angela(@)wikia.com.

• I'm looking for some one who can create a Pywikipediabot based bot that could theoretically be run on our server, rather than client side. The wiki in question is Fan History Wiki. The bot would be similar to FanFictionNetBot in that would it take information from a fan fiction archive that we have permission to do this with, and put that information from the site into an article on wiki. Pricing is negotiable. Please give an idea as to how much you would require for this. If the first bot goes well, there would likely be a chance we would seek your help in building another couple of bots in the future.
